I’ve taught for 21 years as an English teacher, media specialist, and GT Resource teacher, with more than half of that time in the Oakland Mills community. I love to write, and I enjoy math and science. In fact, before I switched my college major to creative writing, I started out in physics! I follow science and technology headlines incessantly, and dabble in coding. I’ve also traveled a bit (one summer in Uganda, one year in China, two summers in Canada), and grew up partly in the tropics (3 years in Hawaii, 3 years in Puerto Rico).
My wife and I live with our three boys in the Wilde Lake area, easy biking distance from OMMS. Aside from writing, my favorite activities are snorkeling, frisbee and cycling. Most importantly, I participated in GT programs myself as a middle schooler, so I can empathize!
